Whenever I can, I like to shop at small, independent stores. We are blessed in Albuquerque to have no shortage of great little funky shops, and one of my favorites is Gee Loretta, a fabulous clothing boutique in the northeast heights. I love the clothes, and I adore the way the store’s lovely buyer, Mariah, posts fashion-forward videos on YouTube. They’re super helpful, as is she. I wanted to share this one Mariah recently posted about colored denim.
I admit to *loving* the colored denim trend. I bought red jeans a couple of months ago and LIVE in them. Yesterday, I bought a pair of rich mustard yellow jeans for the fall, and plan to wear them tonight with a burnt orange draping sleeveless top layered with a long navy blue cardigan from Michael Kors, and maybe my chocolate lizard cowgirl boots. Know what will look awesome with all this? My new earth-tone color block handbag. I’m a sucker for earth tones, and fall just brings that out in me.
(An aside: I’m not at the ranch this weekend. The cowboy is coming to the city instead, for a little change of pace, and we’re heading out on the town.)
Anyway, puppies, I love what Mariah says about keeping your color palette in control so it doesn’t get too busy. I also think I need to get that black shawl off the mannequin and put it in my closet.
What do you guys think of colored jeans? Have you been able to make them work for you?
